Tis the season we eagerly anticipate, a time of joy spent with friends and family—Christmas! The excitement has been ingrained in me since childhood, eagerly awaiting the vibrant burst of colourful fireworks that captivate my spirit. While this festive period may be the most demanding for parents, it remains exciting. Love permeates the air, accompanied by the annual rituals of feasting and exchanging gifts. Ah, the enchanting allure of the famous Santa and Rudolph with the red nose, adorned in that famous costume. I find myself pondering about the mystery beneath his attire and reveling in the charming dance moves of the iconic Santa at the grotto. As a child, we call Santa “Father Christmas” of course with the big tummy.

As a tradition, my parents shop for new clothes and shoes. Regardless of recent purchases, the joy of donning fresh attire during the holiday season was paramount for us as children. I fondly recall my amazing and loving mother’s determination to travel to distant cities, ensuring that her children were adorned in the finest garments. My precious late father, the maestro of fireworks, treated the neighborhood kids to breathtaking displays. Now a parent myself, I truly value and appreciate every effort my parents put into making Christmas magical. Yes, Christmas comes with a price tag, but the warmth and joy it brings are immeasurable.

Strolling down Winder Avenue, the illuminated decorations brighten the night and make me forget the chilly weather for a moment. The festive ambiance evokes a sense of wonder and anticipation. Christmas, for me, extends beyond a seasonal celebration; it is an embodiment of love. Reflecting on this, I question whether the demonstration of love should be confined to this festive season alone. Love, a force capable of transforming the world, should be a daily practice. I am a staunch advocate for love, convinced that its daily expression contributes to the world.

Scientifically, studies underline the positive impact of love on mental health. Individuals surrounded by genuine affection experience reduced tendencies toward depression and anxiety. Emotional support acts as a shield against life’s challenges, offering solace and reassurance. Imagine a world saturated with love and diminished mental health struggles, How beautiful will it be? I am compelled to spread this message. The power to create a world free from hostility and anger lies within us and we can build this world together. Let’s sow the seeds of love today and foster a world where peace reigns, no war, and less hostility.

 Merry Christmas!

This resonated with me; “Individuals surrounded by genuine affection experience reduced tendencies toward depression and anxiety”
Let us all love genuinely without expectations.
